Nothing’s budget-friendly sub-brand, CMF by Nothing, is gearing up for a major product launch later this month. The company has confirmed that the CMF Phone 2 Pro will debut on April 28, 2025, alongside a new lineup of earbuds—CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus.
While the Nothing Phone 3 remains under wraps, CMF by Nothing continues to push the boundaries of affordable yet stylish tech. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming devices.
CMF Phone 2 Pro: A Surprise Pro Model Before the Standard Version?
Interestingly, Nothing is launching the Pro variant of the CMF Phone 2 first, skipping the base model for now. This follows Nothing’s unconventional naming and release strategy—earlier this year, the company launched the Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro before the flagship Phone 3.
Details about the CMF Phone 2 Pro are still scarce, but we expect it to build upon the strengths of its predecessor, the CMF Phone 1, which impressed with its semi-modular design, vibrant display, and solid battery life.

What We Hope to See in the CMF Phone 2 Pro:
- Improved cameras – The CMF Phone 1 had a 50MP main sensor + 2MP depth camera, but performance was underwhelming. A single high-quality sensor might be better than multiple mediocre ones.
- Better build quality – While the Phone 1 was plastic, a more premium feel (without a price hike) would be welcome.
- Longer software support – Currently, CMF phones only get 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security patches, far behind Google and Samsung’s 7-year commitments.
A recent teaser suggests the CMF Phone 2 (non-Pro) might feature a single rear camera, a departure from the dual-camera setup on the Phone 1. If Nothing opts for a single high-quality lens instead of adding unnecessary secondary sensors, it could be a smart move.
New CMF Earbuds: Buds 2 Series Coming Soon
Alongside the Phone 2 Pro, Nothing will introduce three new earbuds:
- CMF Buds 2
- CMF Buds 2a
- CMF Buds 2 Plus
These will likely replace the current CMF Buds and Buds Pro 2, though Nothing hasn’t clarified the exact differences between them. Given CMF’s track record, we expect bold colors (like orange), solid sound quality, and competitive pricing.
Why CMF by Nothing Matters
While flagship phones dominate headlines, CMF by Nothing proves that great design and functionality don’t have to come at a premium. The CMF Phone 1 was one of the best sub-$300 phones last year, offering:
✔ Long battery life
✔ Vibrant 120Hz display
✔ Fast charging
✔ Unique modular back panels
If the Phone 2 Pro can refine the camera, build quality, and software support, it could be an even bigger hit.
Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch!🚀
